Mercico 3D Configurator
Info
A real-time 3D configurator for custom apparel, built for Mercico, the merch store run by Istanbul Technical University students. Users choose a product and color, upload their logo and place it directly on a 3D model, then receive a clear order summary that goes straight to production. I led the UI/UX design; Ozan Sandal handled development.
/1 Problem
Customers ordered custom apparel without seeing how their design would actually look on the product. This led to hesitation, mismatched expectations and revisions after production.
/2 Solution
A three-step flow, 3D Design → Order Summary → Contact. Users pick a model and color, upload a logo, and position, mirror or align it on a live 3D model. An AI background remover handles messy logo files. The summary collects sizes, colors and a print or embroidery choice for each logo, giving manufacturers a complete brief.
/3 Impact
Customers design with more confidence, and manufacturers receive accurate, production-ready orders with fewer back-and-forth revisions.
