Seacrumbs
Info
Seacrumbs is a deceptive product concept from my graduation project: butter cookies packed in a sardine tin. The brief was to design a product that plays with expectations, so I borrowed the visual language of classic Portuguese sardine brands, with vintage labels, ornate typography and nautical illustration, and applied it to something sweet. The result looks like it belongs on a fishmonger's shelf, until you open it.
/1 Problem
The brief asked for a deceptive product: packaging that sets one expectation and delivers another, without feeling like a cheap trick.
/2 Solution
I studied traditional Portuguese sardine tins and rebuilt their visual codes (label layouts, typography, color palettes and fish illustrations) for a cookie brand. Each tin variant follows the same system, so the collection reads as a real heritage brand.
/3 Impact
The surprise is the experience: the packaging invites people to pick it up, question what is inside and share the moment they open it.
